Areas of Focus
Perinatal Mental Health
Perinatal mental health refers to a variety of mental health concerns that occur during pregnancy and the first year after birth. Pregnancy and having a new baby is an exciting time, however can be a time when usual ways of dealing with stress are no longer available. I focus on practical solutions, understanding the root cause of the perinatal mental health concern, and supporting the transition towards a new relationship with yourself as a mother.
Trauma
Trauma affects everyone differently but can leave you with patterns and habits that interfere with everyday life. My approach to trauma recovery involves creating safety, processing or working through the trauma, and rebuilding your connection with identity and life.
My Approach
Empowering clients with an integrative approach utilizing Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectic Behaviour Therapy and Somatic Interventions.
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy focuses on the interaction between your thoughts, behaviours, feelings and physical body reactions. The therapy involves practical solutions, skills, and restructuring thinking processes.
Somatic Interventions are body based interventions that assist with processing and integrating habitual patterns through body sensations and the use of movement.
